Flexo Concepts Installs Large MicroClean™ Model 160 for Demo and Roll Cleaning Service in Plymouth, MA

Microclean Model 160Plymouth, MA, September 5, 2008. Flexo Concepts announced today that it has upgraded the MicroClean™ model used in its Massachusetts headquarters for its anilox roll cleaning service and demonstration purposes.  The new model 160 will accommodate larger anilox sizes and make the service available to both the corrugated and coating and laminating industries in addition to the flexographic and offset markets currently served.

The manufacturer of MicroClean™ dry media anilox cleaning systems, TruPoint™ plastic and composite doctor blades and ReNew™ cleaning products was previously  using a model 120 for its roll cleaning service.  The larger model 160 will expand cleaning capacity to anilox lengths of 150” (381 cm.), which is more than 40” (100 cm.) longer than before.

The model 160 is expected to appeal to corrugated printers and coating and laminating companies which use larger rolls, value press uptime and require a considerable investment to bring cleaning in-house.  The new model will also be used to demonstrate the technology’s effectiveness and operation for companies considering investing in the equipment.

Dave Burgess, Flexo Concepts’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing, says that, “We firmly stand behind the effectiveness of our MicroClean technology and we want to make it available to anyone who wants to take advantage of it, regardless of the size of their rolls.  Now we can.”  He continued, “Whether companies want to invest in a piece of our equipment or send us their rolls to be cleaned, we can offer them a good solution for deep anilox cleaning.”

Since the roll cleaning service was introduced last year, customers have cited thorough cleaning, quick turnaround and the simplicity of the process among its benefits, and many customers have become regular users.  Rolls are sent in, deep cleaned using the MicroClean technology and promptly returned to the customer to be placed back into the press or stored for future use.  As part of the service, customers receive a roll analysis report which includes microphotographs of the cells before and after cleaning.  The report also contains critical cell dimension measurements such as volume, depth, opening and wall thickness.
