Weldon Celloplast Appointed MicroClean™ Agent in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

Plymouth, MA, October 28, 2008. Flexo Concepts announced today that it has named Weldon Celloplast Limited of New Delhi, India its MicroClean™ agent in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.  Under the agreement, the company will also distribute TruPoint™ plastic and composite doctor blades and ReNew™ cleaningproducts to the flexible packaging and label markets in the region.

Flexo Concepts will begin a one-year deal with Weldon effective immediately, giving the company rights to sell itsMicroClean dry media anilox cleaning equipment and plastic media as well as the TruPoint and ReNew product lines in these South Asian countries.  This partnership is expected to enhance recognition of Flexo Concepts’ primary brands in the region and provide a point of contact for local customers.

Weldon Celloplast Limited is the most prominent producer of self-adhesive labelstocks in India and the first Indian company in its industry to receive ISO 9001-2000 certification.  Founded in 1982 by the current Managing Director, Harveer Singh Sahni, Weldon sells silicone release liners, pressure-sensitive materials, self-adhesive tapes and a variety of coated products under the FASCO brand.  The company also distributes press equipment, consumables and accessories for the narrow-web label and converting industries. The affiliation with Flexo Concepts will expand Weldon’s offerings to include anilox cleaning machines, doctor blade products and cleaning solutions. 

The collaboration fits well with Flexo Concepts’ strategy to develop overseas markets and is well-timed with the rapid industry growth in the region.  Dave Burgess, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, comments that the business arrangement will benefit both parties: “By working together, we will increase our presence in the area and Weldon will round out its basket of products.  As a result, both companies will be better-positioned to take advantage of huge growth opportunities in the region.”  He continues by saying, “We are happy to join forces with a company of Weldon’s standing and success in the industry, and we look forward to a solid business relationship.”
